Crystal Blue Lagoon Villas are located on the sands of Muri Lagoon in the very heart of Muri Beach. Being on the eastern coastline of Rarotonga, we enjoy stunning sunrises and are just 15 minutes drive from Avarua the main town centre.
Muri Lagoon is one of the island’s most beautiful locations with white sand beaches and shallow crystal clear water. The lagoon in Muri is wider than most of the island making it the ideal aquatic playground. There are a variety of water sports and activities on offer including kite-surfing, paddle-boarding, lagoon cruises, treadle-cats, kayaking, snorkelling, swimming.
Small uninhabited islets (called Motu’s) positioned in the middle of Muri Lagoon are in easy paddling or wading distance and make a relaxing spot to rest and sunbathe once you’ve made it across from the other side of the lagoon.
Muri Village is an easy stroll from Crystal Blue and is a small bustling centre of tourists and locals out exploring. There are plenty of dining choices at Muri Village catering for all tastes including 2 local cafés (at the top of our driveway) serving delicious coffee and breakfasts.
Convenience/Grocery Stores - There are 3 within easy walking distance of Crystal Blue.
The main one is Tem Store which opens 24/7, with a good variety, fresh food, beer, wine and similar pricing to the main supermarket in town.
Tem Store also sells Vodafone Pre-Paid WiFi vouchers
Te Vara Nui Cultural Village is an easy walk and is a serious “must do”, featuring a spectacular Over Water Night Show and buffet dinner. The Muri Night Food Market operates 4 nights a week and is good way to experience home cooked food by the locals....a very popular choice with all of our guests.
Muri Night Food Market - operating 4 nights per week, this is an ideal way to sample some local home cooking and traditional dishes... a very popular choice where you can dine at the market, or bring a takeaway back to your villa or to your favourite sandy spot on the beach.
Pharmacy - a small pharmacy is located at the top of our driveway.. it opens Sunday - Friday for your basic needs.
Doctor - we have a Doctor located approximately 5 minutes walk from our Villas. Generally opening on weekday mornings
Shopping / Gifts - Muri is not the mecca for shopping, but nearby are:
KiteSUP - located at the top of our driveway.. selling beachwear, swimming shoes, towels, sunscreen etc
Treasure Chest - next to the Doctor..selling gifts, clothing, souvenirs etc
